In a fierce and uncompromising declaration that has electrified campuses across the country, AISA president Neha Bora has drawn a clear red line: the nationwide student uprising will not rest, will not dilute, and will not end until every single arrested student in every state walks free.
“Until every arrested student in every state is released, we will continue our movement,” Neha declared. She insisted that the release of detained students must not be selective, criticising any approach that excludes Muslim students. According to Neha, justice must be applied equally, and every student arrested during the protests, regardless of religion or identity, should be released without discrimination.
Neha’s gaze has now turned sharply toward West Bengal. The state government, she warned, can no longer hide behind silence while students remain behind bars. The demand is simple, non-negotiable, and urgent: release every arrested student immediately.
She warned: “Till arrested students in every state are released, we will continue! The governments of Bihar and Assam issued orders for release after pressure from the students’ movement. The West Bengal government will either release the students, or we will take to the streets!”
She pointed out that in Bihar and Assam, the government had sent notices, but so far there has been no response from the Bengal government.
“The West Bengal government must release the students,” she stated with steel in her voice. “If it does not, tomorrow or the day after, we will take to the streets and it will be just like Jantar Mantar, in Bengal. Our movement will continue until justice is delivered and every detained student is free.”
These are not empty threats. Organisers are already preparing a new wave of protests that will sweep through Kolkata’s streets and light up university campuses across West Bengal.
What began as a fight for justice is now evolving into a broader assertion of democratic power, the power of young people who refuse to be criminalised for demanding a fair system.
