With major investments, farmers, distilleries, banks, oil companies and consumers all tied to the policy, the E20 debate is no longer simply about what goes into a petrol tank.
It has become a battle over energy security, consumer choice, environmental policy and the cost of India’s transition to a new fuel economy.
